Ingamo Homes is a transitional program that supports women and their children fleeing violence. We have twenty townhouse style transitional units, that allow families to begin rebuilding their lives in a safe and supportive environment. Ingamo, which is an Inuit word meaning “a place of friends” opened its door on a cold March day in 1989 based on community concern due to a lack of housing for those women who had experienced violence. Since then, Ingamo Homes has housed thousands of families.
